Emily Schmitt is Senior Manager, Communications and Culture at Visus Therapeutics, leading a wide range of functions including strategic communications, key opinion leader engagement, digital marketing, and social media. She manages external partners to enhance corporate brand recognition and media presence across digital and print channels, including article placement in trade publications, conference appearances, and podium presentations.
Prior to joining Visus, Emily served as the Development Assistant at Baltimore Pictures, the development company for Academy Award-winning director Barry Levinson. She also served at the Head of Development for Evamere Entertainment, a Tony Award-winning theatre production company. Emily received her MA in Humanities from the University of Chicago, and her BA in Humanities and Social Sciences from Western Washington University.
